Introduction
If you are reading this because you ordered a license to an
InspiredCode
software product,
you are now entitled to receive a permanent unlock code for your
copy of the software.
InspiredCode has subcontracted either NorthStarSolutions
or PayPal to collect internet
license orders. Please contact InspiredCode, not those others,
if you have any questions
(even about financial issues because they would just ask me
about such anyway).
The fact that you are here indicates that you were successful in
ordering your license.
(Please do not order the same license again, unless you are trying
to license two machines!)
Now there remains a minimal activation process and you'll soon
have your
permanent
license code
installed.
1) Download and Install the program (if you have not
already done so).
2) Start the program. If the program is "locked", then
scroll
down and click to agree
with the
license agreement.
3) Click on the command button or menu item entitled
"Registration". You
may be
told that the
clipboard has been packed with the demo
code.
If so, it is as if you had
copied the
demo code into the clipboard already, and all
you need to do is to paste it
into
whatever you want.
A Demo code is 2 groups of capital letters
separated by a dash...
...like:
KYPTX-JVNGI (for example)
(Please note: the demo code shown above is
not
your own code! It is provided
only as an
example to show the format,
what it generally looks like.)
(A permanent code is 3 groups of capital
letters with dashes...
...like:
XTPLY-ODIUK-GJJV (for example)
(Please note: the permanent code shown above
is
not your own code! It is
provided only as an
example to show
the format, what it generally looks like.)
4) Click
Here to Activate your product. You will be able to
paste the demo code
into the right place on the form.
After you do receive the permanent code, please follow these last steps below:
1) Start the program. If the program is "locked", then
scroll
down and click to agree
with the license
agreement. The program
will still operate while locked; it is merely
as if the control
panel had a padlock on it to
protect it from accidental changes to the
settings.
2) Click on the command button or menu entitled
"Registration". Answer
the questions.
No you
do not want to order it (because you already
just did).
Yes you did send in for the
license.
Yes you did receive the permanent
code. Go ahead and enter that in now.
3) Click ok and exit the registration routine. You may want
to restart the program.
Please be aware that after registering the program, it may still
list your demo code,
along with whatever permanent license code you have ordered and
entered. It provides
this background information for your records.
VERY IMPORTANT:
If you should ever have to re-do your computer for any
reason:
to avoid
having to pay again,
you need to keep the
following information:
The original
email
address under which you
ordered it.
The Date of your order.
The way you ordered
(PayPal or NorthStar).
The Name
of what you
ordered
(product name
and license level)
The Item# or Product#
of what
you ordered.
(This is the number that
follows the product name,
like 4883 or 4884, and it represents which product you ordered;
and if you can't find a product#, please at least write down the
product name and license level that you got, and with a minimum
of effort on your part it can be figured out later.)
The Demo Code and
Permanent Code you got this time.
I will be using "fuzzy logic" to try to make sure that if you have
at least the
most important pieces of this information you will be able to get in,
but to be
on the safe side, why not just save all of it!
The above information is like a key
to fit the lock of my
records.
Without it there would be no way
to ressurrect your order and
you would have to pay again.
Please print that info and keep it safe.
Thank you.

PS. You might want to print this page, for your convenient
reference. (An accessible option
would be to copy this whole page, paste it into a plain textfile
and open that in SayPad.)
If you have just registered a copy of ChurchBells,
then this next section is just for you.
First of all, you should soon receive a standard welcome letter from me
welcoming you as a ChurchBells user. You may see that letter now
by
clicking here. You
should print this page and you should also go see the
welcome letter and print
that page too.
Next, I'd like to describe the various license levels and what they mean:
Demo:
The demo license level is a time limited trial version that expires,
and also is neither equipped nor permitted to be deployed in a public
performance setting such as an outdoor steeple bell tower system.
Home:
The home license level is not time limited. It does, however, have
some limitations compared to the full organization level license.
The
home level license does not allow public performance. (For more
information about that please refer to ChurchBells documentation.)
The home license does not allow you to create and save custom chiming
schedules.
Organization:
The organization license level is not time limited. It allows a system
to be
set up in a public performance setting such as an outdoor steeple bell
tower system. It allows you to create, modify and save custom
chiming
schedules, and to include other material you may want to provide.
Very Important Information: Under the
Demo
and Home license,
ChurchBells plays a silly little tune that prevents anyone from
deploying
it in an outdoor system. As soon as you have entered your
permanent
organization level license code into ChurchBells, you can get rid of
that
tune in an automatic way! To do this, please "Rebuild Schedule
Database
to Default". (You will find this command under ChurchBells' File
Menu.)
With the Organization level active, when you do this, it avoids adding
the
silly tune to the schedule. If you'd like to also make other
changes
to the
schedule, please see "How to Modify Events (a primer)". (You will
find
this under the Help Menu.) Also, there is a very good tutorial
here:
http://InspiredCode.net/Schedule.htm
If you still
have questions, please
write
to me.
Upgrade:
If you have already paid for a home license and discover you would have
wanted the organization level license, no problem. You can
upgrade
for
just the difference in price between the two license levels.
There
is a
special product code on the order page for doing that.
All Licenses:
All license levels have as one component of them the special unique
demo number created by your machine. That is the number you send
in
to InspiredCode. When you click on the Registration button, that
number
is shown, along with whatever permanent code you may have gotten and
entered. Don't be fooled by the phrase "demo code". If you
have a home
or Organization level license, your copy is definitely
registered.
In such a
case, the demo code is provided also as background information for your
records.
After putting the license code into ChurchBells:
