Blood Sacrifice

Death was the penalty for Adam and Eve's sins.
Confronted by God when they tried to hide,
They confessed, and He dressed them in animal skins,
Blood was shed when those animals died.

Cain brought to God a sample of his crop.
Abel brought a blood sacrifice from his flock.
Abel's confession was the lambs that were dead.
God had respect for the blood that was shed.

Admit you're a sinner and be saved by grace.
Sin causes death; someone has to pay the price.
Somebody else has to die in our place.
Pardon's only bought by a blood sacrifice.

The Death Angel killed Egypt's first born in one night.
The Jews, who by faith, kept the passover, survived.
The blood of the lamb that was smeared on the wood
Foreshadowed the cross, though it wasn't understood.

God told the priesthood what offerings to make:
Animals slain for the peoples' sake.
They all had sinned, so blood was spilled.
Bulls and birds and lambs were killed.

Admit you're a sinner and be saved by grace.
Sin causes death; someone has to pay the price.
Somebody else has to die in our place.
Pardon's only bought by a blood sacrifice.

You're worth much more than a pidgeon or a lamb,
So how could blood of animals pay for a man?
A man slain for sin only pays for his own.
The only one who's never sinned is God alone!

Jesus is the Lamb of God who died!
God in the flesh was crucified.
He paid the price for all of our sin,
But we must choose to trust in Him!

Admit you're a sinner and be saved by grace.
Sin causes death; someone has to pay the price.
God the Son had to die in our place.
Jesus Christ was our blood sacrifice.

Jesus is the Lamb of God who died!
God in the flesh was crucified.
He paid the price for all of our sin,
But we must choose to trust in Him!
