PRV1:1The proverbs of Solomon the son of David, king of Israel;
PRV2:1My son, if thou wilt receive my words, and hide my commandments with thee;
PRV3:1My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments:
PRV4:1Hear, ye children, the instruction of a father, and attend to know understanding.
PRV5:1My son, attend unto my wisdom, and bow thine ear to my understanding:
PRV6:1My son, if thou be surety for thy friend, if thou hast stricken thy hand with a stranger,
PRV7:1My son, keep my words, and lay up my commandments with thee.
PRV8:1Doth not wisdom cry? and understanding put forth her voice?
PRV9:1Wisdom hath builded her house, she hath hewn out her seven pillars:
PRV10:1The proverbs of Solomon. A wise son maketh a glad father: but a foolish son is the heaviness of his mother.
PRV11:1A false balance is abomination to the LORD: but a just weight is his delight.
PRV12:1Whoso loveth instruction loveth knowledge: but he that hateth reproof is brutish.
PRV13:1A wise son heareth his father's instruction: but a scorner heareth not rebuke.
PRV14:1Every wise woman buildeth her house: but the foolish plucketh it down with her hands.
PRV15:1A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger.
PRV16:1The preparations of the heart in man, and the answer of the tongue, is from the LORD.
PRV17:1Better is a dry morsel, and quietness therewith, than an house full of sacrifices with strife.
PRV18:1Through desire a man, having separated himself, seeketh and intermeddleth with all wisdom.
PRV19:1Better is the poor that walketh in his integrity, than he that is perverse in his lips, and is a fool.
PRV20:1Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging: and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise.
PRV21:1The king's heart is in the hand of the LORD, as the rivers of water: he turneth it whithersoever he will.
PRV22:1A GOOD name is rather to be chosen than great riches, and loving favour rather than silver and gold.
PRV23:1When thou sittest to eat with a ruler, consider diligently what is before thee:
PRV24:1Be not thou envious against evil men, neither desire to be with them.
PRV25:1These are also proverbs of Solomon, which the men of Hezekiah king of Judah copied out.
PRV26:1As snow in summer, and as rain in harvest, so honour is not seemly for a fool.
